Vegetarian since birth and vegan since 2016, Robert enjoys nothing more than sharing his passion for animal rights and vegan living through meetups and online communities. A teacher and self-taught software developer, he is a strong believer in the power of education to make a better, more just world. When he isn’t debating ethics with his students, Robert may be found hiking and running through Japan’s beautiful mountains.

Anne-Sophie Royer

Tokyo Vegan Graphic Artist

This French girl came to Japan in 2002 and turned vegan in 2012. She learned of Tokyo Vegan while living in Gunma and was finally able to participate in events when meetups went online during the pandemic. She soon joined the team and enjoys working on the social media side of events for Tokyo Vegan, plus the annual Vegan Christmas Market with Vegan Market JP. Her hobbies include sketching and painting, and taking a stroll in the little streets of traditional areas. She takes too many pictures and is a big onsen addict. She recently left Japan for family reasons but can’t wait to come back to her second homeland someday.

Special thanks to Saori Kondo for her years of dedication as Tokyo Vegan co-organizer, Yuriko Odaka for her assistance on the Japanese version of www.tokyovegan.org, and Yukari Iwamoto, Kano Sekine and Marie Sasahara for all their help with Tokyo Vegan over the years.

As a community-led project, Tokyo Vegan/ Tokyo Vegan Meetup is supported by numerous volunteers, to whom we would also like to extend our deepest gratitude. If you would like to get involved, please contact us via tokyovegan.org@gmail.com.
